City of Pipestone follows the 2007 State of Minnesota Building Codes & Requirements which by reference adopts the 2006 IBC (International Building Code).

To obtain a building permit:

1. Develop plans for review

2. Review building site / plans with Administrator

3. Complete Application for Building Permit

4. City will issue permit upon approval
   - Permit will last one calendar year from issued date

To obtain a building permit for Historic District:

1. Develop plans for review

2. Complete Application - For Historic District

3. Review by Historic Preservation Committee

4. Upon approval by Historic Preservation Committee, Review with Building Administrator

5. Complete application for Building Permit

6. City will issue permit upon approval
   - Permit will last one calendar year from issued date
