1. Who do I contact about a dead animal in the street? On private property?

If the dead animal is in the street, call the Public Works Department at 507-825-2602.

If the dead animal is on private property you can put it in your garbage for collection

2. How much time do I have to remove the snow and ice from sidewalks following a snowfall?

Sidewalks are required, by ordinance, to be cleaned of snow and ice within a reasonable amount of time. The reasonable length of time is considered to be twenty-four (24) hours after the ending of a snowfall. If this is not done, the City may have the sidewalk(s) cleaned and the property owner assessed for this service if not payment is not received within forty-five (45) days.

3. How do I dispose of large items, such as appliances?

The County of Pipestone offers free disposal of large appliances and hazardous waste. Every Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pipestone County Recycling Center located at 718 4th Street NW in Pipestone. Pipestoen County Recycle Center

4. How do I request a new or additional recycling bin?

Recycling bins can be requested by calling Pipestone Soil & Water Conservation District at 507-825-1185.

5. What do I do with old tires?

Tires can be picked up at the curb by our crew for a fee by calling 507-825-3324 to schedule a pick up. (ONLY DURING SPRING CLEAN-UP DAYS) Or they can be taken to Midland Tire, where they are accepted for a fee which covers the cost of them being recycled.

6. What is my scheduled garbage pickup day? What if this falls on a holiday?
